Carteret School will continue to encourage academic growth and nurture individual needs in a positive learning environment to provide all with the success-oriented, educational experiences demanded by our changing world.
Dear Carteret Families,
As the summer ends and the weather begins to turn, it’s a good time to reflect, assess and refocus our goals. As parents, students, educators and citizens in our community we ask ourselves, “What would I like to accomplish this year?” Whether it’s trying a new activity, pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone or simply picking ourselves up when we fall.
This year at Carteret School our motto is “Attitude is Everything.” Our dedicated staff will continue to be focused on promoting student growth through a positive attitude, setting new goals and motivating students to always do their best. Our Balanced Literacy Program is a part of all grade levels that students have responded to favorably. It includes Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop as well as our Spelling program, Words Their Way. Students will be strongly encouraged to move to the next reading level or increase their knowledge to the next spelling list. Our new mathematics series, Investigations, is also a hands approach which increases problem solving and thinking strategies.
Carteret School is also committed to creating innovative programs which expose our students to stretch their growth. I’m pleased to announce that Saturday Academy, Adult School and Afterschool Academic Support Programs will continue various times throughout the year. I encourage parents and students to participate in these wonderful programs. As we move forward, we will continue to create a positive attitude which promotes excellence for everyone involved.
Have a great 2016-2017 school year!
Mr. John Baltz
Carteret School Principal
